About the Clean Air Action Fund
A sister organization to one of Pennsylvania’s oldest and most respected environmental nonprofits
Environmental Action and Advocacy in Pennsylvania
For over 50 years, the Clean Air Council has fought against the harmful impacts of pollution, and it has advocated for a cleaner, healthier environment for all Pennsylvanians.
In 2020, we launched the Clean Air Action Fund as a sister organization to the Council. As a 501(c)(4) organization, the Clean Air Action Fund is legally permitted to engage in a broader range of activities than the Clean Air Council, including electoral work and lobbying beyond 501(c)(3) limits. We use those tools to advocate for candidates and policies that address the climate crisis.
What We Do
We’re fighting climate change and its impacts on Pennsylvania by focusing on four key issues
Eliminating Fossil Fuels
Fossil fuels damage our climate, our health, and our natural resources. It’s time to transition away from dirty energy.
Advancing the Green Economy
Clean energy protects our climate, health, and economy. It’s time to put Pennsylvanians to work bringing a more sustainable future to the Commonwealth.
Supporting Federal Policies
Federal policy will drive America’s response to climate change. It’s time for Pennsylvania to capitalize on the opportunities that exist at the national level.
Protecting Democracy
Protecting our environment means protecting our democracy. It’s time to foster a healthy democracy as well as a healthy planet.
