Urge Congress to Pass Federal Climate Legislation

There is nothing more important—to our budget, our economy, our foreign policy, and our future—than passing federal legislation that includes significant investments in fighting climate change. With Democrats in control of the White House, the Senate, and the House, there is a small window of opportunity to act. But with the midterms coming up, that window may close for another 10 or more years.

With just a few months left to act, momentum is growing to pass ambitious climate legislation. Even Joe Manchin has signaled some openness to energy legislation that would include significant funding to fight climate change. The environmental movement must focus its energy on securing federal climate legislation—it could be many years before we have this chance again.
